.Katie lives on the Solihull/ Warwickshire border and joined the Unity Candle Ambassador team in July 2021. Let her tell you a little about herself, her connection to Glastonbury, and what the Unity Candle means to her.

Can you tell us about your connection to Glastonbury?
I've been visiting Glastonbury since 2006, and have friends there and many happy memories.

When did you first become aware of the Glastonbury Unity Candle?
From visiting the Chalice Well Gardens, then during the first lockdown.

Have you had any special experiences with the Unity Candle that you can share with us?
Hosting the candle from Glastonbury, and feeling a strong connection to my friend who lived there. I often get sent a purple light in the flame.

Can you tell us a little about your background?
I'm a learning disabilities nurse, and I work with children with complex medical needs. I'm a Wiccan Priestess.

What does the Candle personally mean to you?
Peace, Unity, Connection, Friendships, Contemplation, Meditation.

Can you tell us a little about your special interests?
Reading, poetry, yoga, practising Wicca

Anything else you would like to share?
It's lovely to meet you!

What does being an Ambassador and hosting the Silent Minute mean to you?
The opportunity to connect with the candle family in Glastonbury and beyond. The honour of leading the Silent .Minute means a great deal to me; I know how much it means to our regular followers.

There is no power on earth that can withstand the cooperation on spiritual levels of men & women of goodwill everywhere.
